Regal Heights Toronto – Modern Bath Renovation

We like being creative with our projects at Ashton Renovations, and recently we completed a very interesting and unique bathroom renovation in Toronto’s Regal Heights. The neighbourhood is situated on the western hill of the Davenport escarpment. It has many very large turn of the century houses, tree- lined streets, and an elevation atop the Davenport escarpment that has many unparalleled views of the Toronto skyline. The home had an industrial design, but needed repairs to the 3rd floor open concept bathroom.

The main focus of the renovation was to repair the shower area and create a closed space with privacy, yet keep an open feeling to the bathroom, as pictured below. So to achieve this, the original oak beams were kept and closed in. Atop the bathroom glass was used to close in the bathroom, but keep in the light.

Below is the bathroom before the renovations. The prominent characteristic kept in the renovation was the window, oak beams, and curved ceiling. Some of the features of the new bathroom included a Flextherm heated floor, Schluter shower system, temperature control shower system, and built-in closet.
